What Should Students Expect?

After check-in, students will meet with one of the Aquarium's educators who will introduce the week's topic. Students will then partake in hands-on, educational activity stations, supervised by an educator. Supplemental materials will be available to guide learning during the activity. There will be an opportunity to meet one of our animal ambassadors and tour the Aquarium at your leisure.

• Your Homeschool Day Admission Ticket is only good for the day printed on the ticket. (Click on the attachment to view your tickets.)
• Parking is available both on the street and in the CTA parking garage.
  • CTA charges a fee to park in their garage, Address: 1401 20th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501
  • Street parking is available; be aware of 1 hour parking signage
• No refunds, no rainchecks
• Annual Pass Holders do not receive a discount on Homeschool Day Tickets.
• Your homeschool day ticket will allow you to stay in the park all day after the event ends.

Dive Deeper into learning with this in-classroom program that focuses on the specific topic of the month. Each day offered will include a lesson and a hands-on lab activity.

Learning Labs last approximately 1 hours and geared towards middle and high schoolers.

Must be booked in advance! Maximum of 35 participants each day.

Wait…That’s a Fish?!

Wow! Did you know seahorses and eels are actually fish? With over 34,000 kinds of fish in the world, some look so strange, you might wonder if they’re even fish at all! In this session, you’ll explore what makes a fish a fish and meet some of the weirdest ones—like seahorses, eels, and even a polka-dot batfish. Get ready to play games, learn cool facts, and discover what it really means to be a fish!

Topic - Fish Dissection:

Discover the inner workings of aquatic life! During this Learning Lab, participants will explore fish anatomy through a hands-on dissection, learning how these fascinating creatures function from the inside out.

The Wildest Rainforest Residents on Earth

Pack your explorer gear—we’re heading to the rainforest! You’ll discover amazing animals like sloths hanging high in the trees and colorful poison dart frogs hiding on the forest floor. Dive into the Amazon River to meet river dolphins and shiny fish! We’ll learn how these creatures survive and play fun activities to see who blends in and who stands out. It’s going to be a wild adventure in the rainforest!

Ocean Titans: Whales & Dolphins Uncovered

Guess what? Dolphins are part of the whale family! Whales come in two cool groups: toothed whales and baleen whales. In this session, you’ll learn what makes them different, how they live in the big blue ocean, and the problems they face—like getting tangled in nets or swimming through trash. Get ready for a super fun adventure as we dive into the amazing world of whales!

Ever wonder how animals grow up? Some creatures go through incredible changes to complete their life cycle! You’ll explore the amazing journeys of animals like horseshoe crabs, seahorses, jellyfish, and more. We’ll compare their lifecycles and even build your own! Come find out what it takes for these animals to survive and grow

Mission Turtle: Race Against the Waves

Sea turtles need our help! There are seven kinds of sea turtles in the world, and they face big challenges—like plastic pollution, dangerous nets, and beach hazards. In this session, you’ll learn how turtles survive, play rescue games, and discover ways YOU can help protect them. Become a sea turtle hero and make a difference for these amazing animals!
