A Dam Good Festival

A Dam Good Festival is happening Saturday, April 6 & Sunday, April 7!

This festival is a celebration of our North American Beavers, who are named after Mississippi music legends Elvis and B.B. King! There will be delicious food and drink, local entertainers, and so much more!

Festival is included with general admission.

Educational Activities

Build a Dam | 10:30AM - 12PM
Location: Flood gate next to Otter Habitat
Can you build a dam that will hold back water? Put your beaver skills to the test. Join us near the Otter habitat to practice building your own mini dam with popsicle sticks, rocks, and clay!

Beaver Chat and Craft | 1:15PM - 2PM
Location: Beaver Habitat
Learn exactly how beavers are built to build in this exciting and interactive chat and craft. That’s right, we’re going to build a beaver puppet as you learn how their body is adapted to build structures and live in the water.

Beaver Enrichment | 2:30PM - 3PM
Location: Beaver Habitat
Create enrichment items for our beavers! We’ll provide the cardboard, newspaper and instructions. You help us make fun items for our beaver boys that encourage their natural behaviors such as chewing, tearing, and digging.
