Hurricane Sally Update: Mississippi Aquarium Closed Tuesday, September 15 due to Tropical Storm Sally

For Immediate Release: September 13, 2020

GULFPORT, Miss. –  The animals, staff and guests are our top priority. Due to the threat of Tropical Storm Sally, Mississippi Aquarium will be closed on Tuesday, September 15. Monday, our team will continue to prepare for Tropical Storm Sally, so please note that some animals may not be in their habitats for viewing.

For those who have pre-purchased tickets for this day please visit msaquarium.org to reschedule your visit day.

Our team has been working hard all season to prepare for potential storms and our animals are in great hands. We have maximized stocks on animal diets and have evacuation plans in place if we need to move any animals to our secure off-site location. We have a designated and well-supplied ride-out team that ensures all storm protocol and backup generators are working and efficient.

We are monitoring the weather reports closely and will keep our guests and members updated regularly on additional closures for the rest of the week on our website and social channels.
