Mississippi Aquarium is proud to participate in the 2020 International Coastal Clean-UpDay. This important environmental movement started small in 1986 with a group of only 2,800 volunteers. Today, it is a year-round global movement focused on cleaning up beaches, waterways, and other marine environments. Each year, the official International Coastal Clean-up Day falls on the third Saturday inSeptember. This year, the event is scheduled for September 19, 2020. With Hurricane Sally having just impacted our neighboring communities this week, community efforts to help clean up our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches will be much needed.
