This one-day immersive marine science education experience for 6-12 grade students will introduce students to their local habitats while allowing them to conduct hands-on marine science data collection.
Students will learn fundamental concepts of marine and atmospheric science in the context of the Mississippi Sound coastal environments and ecosystems while engaging in hands-on activities that demonstrate the collection of marine and atmospheric science data.
This will take place aboard Ship Island Ferry in the Mississippi Sound and at Ship Island.
Accessibility: Students will need to be able to spend the day in the sun and heat while using sampling equipment on Ship Island.
