Position Summary

The Marketing Manager, Creative and Graphic Design contributes to the success of Mississippi Aquarium and its financial sustainability by raising awareness through integrated marketing campaigns, marketing collateral and creative content for print, digital communications and advertising. The position will collaborate with all departments to ensure creative content is consistent with Aquarium branding.

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or marketing with certificate in graphic design
  • Minimum of 3 years of integrated marketing campaign design experience
  • Experience in photography, video production and editing and graphics production within the Adobe Creative Suite required to create visual designs that clearly communicate messaging and calls to action for distinct audiences
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with vendors
  • Attention to details with strong verbal, writing, editing and communication skills
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
  • Ability to work under limited supervision, both independently and in a team environment
  • Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and travel
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, standards, integrity and confidentiality

  • Create concept, look, feel and design direction of all integrated marketing communications and materials consistent with the Aquarium’s brand, messaging and mission
  • Design, develop and produce all marketing visual materials including, but not limited to brochures, outdoor, event collateral, facility guides, sales kits, advertising, video, digital and on-line graphics: develop new identities for large and special events as needed
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure brand and design consistency across all environmental, digital and external communications
  • Collect, format and organize all marketing assets including, but not limited to images and videos
  • Schedule photo shoots to ensure the Aquarium has up to date images of experiences, programs, exhibits and events; coordinate with all departments to create shot list and work with the photographer to capture images that will work across multiple platforms to maximize photography budget
  • Meet and collaborate with all departments to generate creative initiatives to increase brand and event awareness; create a cohesive look to Aquarium messaging across all departments to ensure what the audience sees outside of our campus accurately reflects what they will experience on campus
  • Attend marketing and department meetings as needed
  • Assist in coordinating, fulfilling and distributing on-site and off-site marketing promotions and signage
  • Responsible for developing efficient production schedules
  • Provide input to the Vice President, Sales and Marketing on concepts for consumer advertising and brand campaign; continually evaluate design and production trends; update and incorporate as needed
  • Responsible for creative budgets, bid solicitation and cost oversight for all collateral production
  • Support digital marketing efforts with designs, photographs and illustrated graphics
  • Oversee creative marketing interns and volunteers as needed
  • Assist with other marketing projects as needed
