The Mississippi Aquarium was slated to open its doors to the public today. Now, that isn’t happening.
The construction project has already faced delays, and now health concerns regarding the coronavirus have further hindered development.
Officials say a new opening date has not been set, but they plan to announce one as soon as possible.
The Mississippi Aquarium said in a Facebook on Tuesday, “There is significant progress taking place all over MSAQ’s campus. The scaffolding surrounding the iconic sails has been removed and plant life is already making its way onto the grounds.”
